Silver Cord Opportunity- Camp Invention is looking for students interested in volunteering who will be in 9th - 12th grades next year. It will be at Stewart Elementary June 6-10 from 9:00 - 3:00. Silver Cord Opportunity- Silver Cord help is needed for the following programs: Kirkwood for Kids Summer Camp, June 20-23, 9am to noon; Camp Exploration Summer Camp, June 27-30, 9am to noon; Call Kirkwood at 319-653-4655 for more information.

4-H Program for 8th - 12th grade- Washington County High School Youth grades 8th through 12th: You are invited to participate in the Build Your Future: Choices…Connections…Careers Program offered by Washington County 4-H program. The purpose of the program is to help youth develop skills and knowledge in career exploration and interactive learning experiences. Participants will experience a variety of learning methods such as reflect on their personal interests, skills, values, and personality to identify career options and college majors, research and explore careers, learn about career and employment portfolios and begin the process of creating their own, explore how education and training affect employment opportunities, earning potential, and lifetime earnings, learn employability skills such as writing a resume and interviewing for jobs, and work on goals for the future by focusing on career goals and steps necessary to reach those goals. 6 sessions will be held at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. The dates are set for June 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The cost for this camp is $25. Scholarships available upon request. Participants DO NOT have to be 4-H members. Silver Cord Opportunity- The Washington County Historical Society, Inc. could really use the assistance of Silver Cord volunteers this summer on Sundays 2-4:00, June-August. The jobs consist of being docents at the Conger House Museum located at 903 E. Washington St. Students will assist historical society members in welcoming visitors to the museum, participate in exhibits and artifact preservation. Contact: Mary Levy 319-653-1656

Students Registered for Kirkwood Next Year- Students who are registered for Kirkwood next year: You have until June 1 to drop any of your classes. After that date, it is not guaranteed that Kirkwood will allow you to drop. Please reach out to your school counselor asap if you have any concerns or are thinking about dropping a course.

Silver Cord Opportunity- The Washington YMCA will be hosting bingo every Thursday night, typically it lasts 6:30pm-8:30pm. They are in need of volunteers to call numbers and hand out prizes. They are also hosting an Alive After 5 on June 7th and will need a few volunteers to help set up, serve food and clean up after. Lastly, Summer Camp’s theme this summer is, careers, each week is a different career base. They are looking for guest speakers each Friday at 10:00 am. If anyone is interested in sharing more about their job or hobbies we are more than happy to have them! Contact Tamera C. Alexander - 319-653-2141.

Silver Cord Opportunity- WASA is looking for field and concessions help for their tournament June 5 and 6. Sign up on the sites below. Current BPA Members- Please stop in Ms. Duwa's room to vote for the 2022 - 2023 Officers.

Finals Schedule- Today and tomorrow WHS will be on a finals schedule. This morning, blocks 1 and 2 will have finals with make ups in the afternoon. Tomorrow we will be on a 1:10 finals dismissal schedule with testing for 3rd and 4th blocks that morning. School will be dismissed at 1:10 Tuesday for summer break. Class will resume Tuesday, August 23rd.

Lockers- Please be sure all lockers are cleaned out before leaving tomorrow for the summer. Items left will be donated.

From the Kitchen- Today's Cook's Choice is a choice of a Burrito or Taquita. There will be no parfaits or salads this week.

Shout Outs- Good luck to the boys golf team at the state tournament today and tomorrow. Congratulations to the boys track team for their 4th place finish at the state track meet this past weekend. Good luck to the boys soccer team in the 2nd round of postseason play today as they travel to Fort Madison.
