Dodgeball Tournament- Registration is now open for the WCSD PE Department Dodgeball tournament held Sunday Jan 26th at 2pm in the WHS gyms. First 8 teams to turn registration and payment into Mrs. Roberts will be entered in the tournament. Teams of 8-10, cost is $50 per team and you’re guaranteed 2 games. All proceeds benefit the WCSD PE Departments.
Scholarship Info- For high school Juniors: Hills Bank and Leadership Grant Application If you are currently a high school junior in Keokuk, Washington or Johnson County, be sure to check out the 2020 Hills Bank & Trust Leadership Grant scholarship program for $1000. It’s a unique opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills and earn a college scholarship from 4-H! You do not need to be a current Iowa 4-H member to apply for this program. All application materials must be received through online submission by March 1, 2020 for consideration. Scholarship Info- Iowa 4-H Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships: Iowa 4-H members are eligible to apply for 4-H scholarships if they have met the individual scholarship requirements. Only ONE application form is needed for all 90 scholarships worth a total of $100,000 going ONLY to 4-H members. Eligible Iowa 4-H youth may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship per individual will be awarded per academic year. Instructions on application and helpful hints are available at www.iowa4hfoundation.org/scholarships All application materials must be submitted online by Feb 1, 2020 for consideration. Kirkwood Students- Since Kirkwood is not in session due to their holiday break, students are expected to arrive for their classes on time at WHS. Students not arriving on time, will receive an unexcused tardy.
College Rep- Iowa Wesleyan will have a college representative here on Thursday, January 23rd, during lunch shifts.
Speech Meeting- Mrs. Rodgers will be holding an individual speech meeting Friday, January 24th during homeroom Any students unable to attend should talk to Mrs. Rodgers.
Trivia Night- Please support Washington After Prom by signing up for a fun evening of trivia. It will be held Saturday, January 25 at Lebowski's from 7-9 PM. 8 person teams and cost is $80 per team. Driver's Permit Test- High school students interested in taking the Driver's Permit test at WHS during 5th block, please sign up in the counseling office asap. (You must be 14 to take the test.)
