College Rep- Today from 11:10 - 1:05 a representative from Indian Hills Community College will be in the Commons.


Sophomores- ATTENTION 10TH GRADERS: Do you demonstrate or have potential leadership ability? Then the HOBY Youth Leadership Conference is for you. Please visit www.hoby.org and/or iahoby.org to learn more about this AMAZING opportunity. HOBY will be held June 19-21 at Drake University in Des Moines. If you would like to attend, please stop by the HS Counseling Office and pick up an application. DUE DATE: Tuesday, December 3.


College Rep- Kirkwood Community College will have a representative here Tuesday, December 3rd from 11:10 - 1:05 in the Commons.


Turkey Bowling- Turkey Bowling Competition in the auxiliary gym this week. Today, Nov 20th Junior and Senior homerooms; Tomorrow, Nov 21st Bowl offs; Friday, Nov 22nd fun bowling with guest bowlers. Rules: Hard intentional throws disqualify the homeroom; Homeroom teachers no more than 2 rolls; Students, please help us reset pins between rolls. Trophy bragging is on the line for the year.

Report Cards- First term Report Cards are available in the office for students or parents to pick up.


ACT Prep- Mr. Obermann will be offering English ACT Prep in his room during 5th Block on Dec 3, 4 and 5. Please sign up in Flexisched to attend.


Car Registration- During lunches Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, students who drive will be asked to register the vehicle that will be parked in the lot. Information needed is car model, color and license plate. Once the form is filled out you will be issued a parking sticker that should go on the back rear corner of the back window. If you have any questions, please contact the office.


Football State Qualifier Patches- Any football player interested in purchasing a state qualifier football patch needs to bring $12 to Mrs. Garrett in the activities office by Friday, November 22. Checks are to be made payable to Washington High School. We do not have change in the office, so if you bring cash, please be sure to bring in the exact amount.


From the Kitchen- This week the grab and go salad is Garden and the parfait is Strawberry.


FAFSA Help- Lupe Hernandez from ICAN Succeed will be at WHS on December 18 to help parents/students complete the FAFSA. Please contact Jona Dalrymple in the counseling office if you would be interested in making a half hour appointment with Lupe on that day to get the FAFSA completed. Parents have to be present and please bring all necessary information. Students do not have to be present.


Silver Cord Opportunity- Any student interested in earning silver cord Friday evening by working in the concession stand during the basketball scrimmage, please contact Susan Van Osdol at 319-458-0201. This will be a fundraiser for After Prom. Parents are also welcome to help.


Bowling Apparel Order- Bowling Apparel forms are available in the office. Orders are due Wednesday, November 27.
