2nd Term Finals Will be Thursday, January 8th and Friday, January 9th. The High School only will be dismissed at 12:00.
Homeroom & Demon Time Waivers Term 3 Homeroom/Demon Time Waivers need to be filled out each term based on your schedule (esp. important if you have KCC classes- since it's a new semester for them). These are due back to the front office by Jan. 16, 2026 or sooner. They can be found in the student center located in the front office (they are pink).
Volunteer Opportunity: WCDC is looking for a volunteer once a month on Thursdays at 3:15 to help teach computer skills. The skills you would be teaching staff include: accessing email, accessing files, opening and completing word documents, accessing websites from an internet browser. Internship Opportunity: Any WHS student who is interested in doing an Internship teaching Computer Skills or Art Skills at WCDC in Term 3 or Term 4, please contact your school counselor. KEOKUK FARM BUREAU SEEKING 2026 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS The Keokuk County Farm Bureau scholarship program is accepting applications for the 2026 school year. Two graduating high school students will be chosen to receive the $500 awards with one selected for consideration of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation's (IFBF) $2,500 state scholarship, renewable for four years (up to $10,000). Eligibility is reserved for current Iowa Farm Bureau members or their children in good standing with the organization. To be considered, the graduating high school student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average, be involved in extra-curricular activities, and be accepted into an accredited higher education institution, including community colleges and technical schools. To apply, students must demonstrate their leadership and community involvement and describe how they would use a scholarship award to support Iowa Farm Bureau's mission of creating a vibrant future for agriculture, farm families and their communities. Hills Bank and Trust Company Leadership Grants are available to high school juniors in Washington county. Applicants will be evaluated on their involvement in community service and student group activities, work experience, and their high school academic performance, which must include a grade point average of 2.8 or higher. The recipients of this grant will agree to attend a minimum of nine hours of Hills Bank sponsored leadership training during their senior year. Grand Commandery of Iowa Knight Templar Scholarship The Grand Commandery of Iowa Knights Templar will be awarding several scholarships to high school seniors who will graduate this academic year from a public high school within the state of Iowa. The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2000.00 to graduating seniors in pursuing a postsecondary education in any state at an accredited institution which provides a two- or four-year college program. The criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas. The Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa is looking for those students who exhibit the greatest potential to be not only of service to their communities in the future but also leaders in these communities. The application can be found in your Schoology messages from the WHS Counseling Department. The deadline to apply is March 15. For high school juniors: Hills Bank and Leadership Grant Application If you are currently a high school junior in Keokuk, Washington or Johnson County, be sure to check out the 2026 Hills Bank & Trust Leadership Grant scholarship program for $1000. It's a unique opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills and earn a college scholarship from 4-H! You do not need to be a current Iowa 4-H member to apply for this program. For high school seniors: Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarships Iowa 4-H members are eligible to apply for 4-H scholarships if they have met the individual scholarship requirements. Only ONE application form is needed for all 90 scholarships worth a total of $100,000 going ONLY to 4-H members. Eligible Iowa 4-H youth may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship per individual will be awarded per academic year. Washington County Student Engineering Intern - 2026 The Washington County Engineer's Office is looking for a college student or high school graduate pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil or Construction Engineering to assist with construction inspection and basic land surveying. Other degree focuses will also be considered. Student must be hard working, responsible, punctual, able to follow instructions, and able to work independently. Must have a valid Iowa Drivers License. This will be a temporary summer position with competitive wages. It will be approximately 40 hours per week, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday. Some overtime may be required.
